What blastocyst means
A blastocyst is a later stage of embryo development, usually reached around day five or six. Culture means keeping embryos in laboratory conditions while the embryology team follows their development.
Choosing when to transfer
The decision depends on the embryos available and your treatment plan. Ask what happens if no embryo reaches the intended stage, how the laboratory updates you and why it recommends a particular transfer day.
