FERTILITY TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

Fertility testing in HSR Layout, Bangalore

A useful assessment starts with your history and a reason for each test. You should leave knowing what the results mean for your options, rather than simply collecting more reports.

What the consultation covers

DYU provides infertility consultation, diagnosis and fertility evaluations. The doctor can review your menstrual and pregnancy history, earlier investigations, relevant medical conditions and previous treatment.

Where relevant, both partners should be part of the assessment. It is worth bringing the reports you already have so the clinician can decide what is still needed.

Tests answer different questions

Blood tests and ultrasound may help assess ovulation and the reproductive organs. Semen analysis assesses the sperm sample. Depending on your history, the clinician may also discuss investigation of the fallopian tubes.

A test is useful when it helps answer a particular question. Ask what each proposed investigation could change about the next step.

Understanding your results

Request an explanation in everyday language. Ask which findings are clear, which need follow-up and whether the results point towards treatment or further investigation.

You do not have to choose a treatment during the same conversation. Taking notes or bringing a list of questions can make the discussion easier to return to afterwards.

Before your visit

Confirm with the centre whether any planned tests need a particular point in your cycle or special preparation. Do not book a group of tests on the assumption that every fertility assessment is the same.

  • Bring previous blood tests, scan reports and semen reports, if available.
  • Bring a list of medicines and details of earlier fertility treatment.
  • Write down the questions you most want answered.
  • Ask about the consultation fee and any separate investigation charges.
