What a scan can show

Ultrasound uses sound waves to produce images. In fertility care, scans can assess the uterus and ovaries and help monitor developing follicles.

Before an internal scan

Ask whether your scan is abdominal or transvaginal and whether you need a full bladder. An internal scan requires your consent. You can ask questions or request that it stops.
