FERTILITY TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

Male fertility care in Bangalore

Fertility assessment should include the male partner where relevant. Starting that conversation early can help the team understand the situation and explain which tests are worth considering.

Start with an assessment

DYU lists male fertility procedures and fertility evaluations among its services. A consultation can cover medical history, earlier test results and any previous treatment.

Semen analysis looks at features such as sperm count, movement and shape. Your clinician interprets the result in context and may recommend further assessment. One result should not become a diagnosis you are left to interpret alone.

How treatment options differ

Depending on the findings, the discussion may include ICSI, sperm freezing or a sperm-retrieval procedure. These do different jobs. ICSI is a fertilisation technique; sperm retrieval is a procedure to obtain sperm when needed.

Ask the team to explain the reason for each step and how it fits with the other partner's assessment. A treatment plan for the couple needs both sets of information.

When ICSI may be discussed

A specialist may consider ICSI for certain sperm-related problems or poor fertilisation in an earlier IVF cycle. Some people need a separate assessment for surgical sperm retrieval. Neither procedure guarantees that a pregnancy will follow.

Bring your questions

If a report feels confusing or upsetting, ask for a clear explanation of what it means and what remains uncertain. You can also ask whether repeating a test would be useful.

  • Do these results need further investigation?
  • Would another result change the treatment recommendation?
  • Is a specialist referral or retrieval procedure needed?
  • What would sperm storage involve?
  • How will the two partners' treatment schedules fit together?
