What the procedure involves
Micro-TESE uses a microscope during surgery to look for areas of the testicle that may contain sperm. It may be considered when sperm production is impaired and no sperm are found in the ejaculate.
Planning before surgery
Assessment may include hormone and genetic tests. Ask about anaesthesia, recovery, surgical risks and the plan if no sperm are recovered. If usable sperm are found, the team may discuss freezing and ICSI.
